What's in a name?
Sierra is a small purebred Peruvian Paso. She came to Burnt Biscuit Ranch after many years of abuse. Her story was not known when she first arrived but she had a way of communicating her history. It was followed up by tracking back through her many owners.

Happy Ending
She had been kicked, beaten and ridden for miles and miles under a large rider. We thought we could work through all of that but when she began bucking, it was apparent that she had also been 'bucked out' somewhere along the line. The muscles in her back had been damaged and atrophied, making riding difficult and painful for her. She trusts very few people but, once that trust was earned, she has become a best friend to Carolyn. Her daughter calls Sierra a 'lap horse'.
